Color Analysis & Personal Vibrancy
I am a big believer in assessing the energy or our material possessions carry — especially the ones we choose to wear on our bodies.
Each of us has colors and tones that harmonize best with our natural features, and give us an extra boost of vibrancy. This study of Color Analysis, aligns nicely with my core value of Individuality, and it’s why I struggle with overly-general styling advice or trends! I love to see people ~ shinin’ ~ in their own way.
To get your custom Color Palette, you can pay a professional…experiment with online filters…or scrounge the internet to figure out what’s right for you. After diving in and doing some research, I was happy to land on 2 intuitive steps to simplify the process.
01 — Contrast
Assess your hair, eyes, and skintone. Is there high-contrast between the three, or low-contrast? This will dictate the weight of the colors that will work best for you.
Low Contrast: Light blonde hair, light blue eyes, fair skin. All three features blend together. So, muted, lightweight tones will allow a person to see the natural features before the clothing.
High Contrast: Dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, fair skin. There is a stark contrast between features. So, more solid, heavyweight tones will look harmonious with features.
02 — Color
Identifying your best colors and hues gets much more nuanced, with 12 Seasonal Palettes. This is where I’ve seen people spin, and get over it — so I highly recommend taking a look at The Concept Wardrobe. This author does a cohesive outline of the features, and brings intuitive parallels to nature elements. I absolutely love that this is a free resource for people to find, and it helped inspire me in the creation of my site ☺︎
Having a custom palette has been such a game-changer! My shopping experiences have been simplified, I can narrow in on which purchases feel worth a spend vs. splurge. I have more fun with playful styling, and clarity with decisions about nails, hair and makeup.
